Registration

How do I sign up?: Everything runs through CourtReserve. Download the CourtReserve app, search for Balboa Tennis Club, and register from the Events tab. You can also use the web portal from any browser. Every program page here links straight to the right registration page.
Do I need to be a club member?: Our classes are open to the public. Balboa Tennis Club and University City Racquet Club are independently operated clubs, and membership is a separate matter handled by each club. If you want membership or court rental information, use the links on our location pages.
What does it cost?: Pricing is listed on each program's registration page in CourtReserve. We are in the middle of publishing prices directly on this site.
A class is full. What now?: Join the waitlist in CourtReserve. Spots open regularly, and we add sessions when a waitlist gets long. You can also email the program lead and we will tell you honestly how long the wait usually is.

What should I bring?: Water, court shoes or any clean athletic sneaker, and sunscreen. That is genuinely it.
I do not own a racket.: We have loaners at both locations. Come try tennis first, buy a racket later, and when you do, our pro shop will help you pick one that fits your hand instead of the display rack.
What do kids need?: Sneakers, water, and a hat. We supply the right ball for their age group, and loaner rackets in the correct size. Nothing to buy before the first day.
Where do I park?: Both locations have free parking. Details, including which lot fills up first, are on each location page.

Can I switch classes?: Yes. Email the program lead and we will move you if there is room. Adult programs: Matt Previdi. Junior programs: Maribeth Rivera.
What happens if it rains?: San Diego being San Diego, this is rare. If courts are unplayable, you will get a notification through CourtReserve and the session is rescheduled or credited.
How do I cancel a registration?: Cancel in CourtReserve under My Events. Cancellation windows vary by program and are shown at checkout. If you are outside the window, email us and we will do what we reasonably can.

When the app asks you to pick a facility, search for Balboa Tennis Club and select it. That is where our programs live, including the ones at UCRC.
